In the present Manvantra period (a large unit of time according to Hindu scriptures) Maharishi Kashyap was one of the seven great rishis. At the current location of KASHMIR there was a high altitude vast lake which was drained by Kashyap Rishi by cutting gap in hills at Varah mula3 (Baramula today). Valley of Kashmir which emerged out of this , called Kashyapmira got changed to Kashmir with passage of time.Many great works like Kashyap Samhita etc were created here. Maharishi Kashyap is creator of human beings & most of the creatures of today.Solar dynasty (suryavansha) known after name of Ikshvaku – great grandson of Kashyap Rishi- emerged out of this source only.Raja Dashrath & Lord Ram were great kings of this Suryavansh originating from Rishi Kashyap .For most of the Hindus located all over India , their gotra is Kashyap .It is also said & believed if a person does not know his gotra, it is assumed that he/ she is from Kashyap gotra. It would suggest that our forefathers originated from & lived at Kashmir.Further in the Rajtarangini (a river of kings) a Sanskrit history work written by Kalhan , it has been stated that Kashmirs Hindu society was ruled by a hundreds of Hindu& some buddhist Kings for several thousands of years. Demography of Kashmir has got changed due to application of brute force & not by genuine change of heart in last 6-7 centuries. However in our political discourse we refer to only recent events like UN resolution of 1948 ,treaty b Hindu Raja of Kashmir & GOI etc.As is evident from the enormous literary & other evidence that territory of Kashmir belongs to all Bharatwasis & not merely to those currently residing in Kashmir.It would be extremely logical for current GOI to go in for immediate revocation of Article 370 of constitution ,in accordance with their long known & promised stand.This would ensure not only permanent solution to Kashmir problem it would bring considerable peace & prosperity in the country & for current residents of Kashmir Big decisions are required to be taken in national interest of Akhand Bharat even at the cost of sacrificing one state govt & some minor initial turmoil which has always remained in last 70 years despite retention of Article 370 in constitution so far.
